Introducing a new product from Geeto Mods.   This item requires you to drill a small hole inorder to connect to the speaker door.    You can also buy an optional plug and power supply to plug the unit into the game service port plug if you already have something plugged into the Stern Power Port.   The options are available at an additional cost and can be selected when adding the item to your cart.  Below is some of the literature regarding the installation and you may also download the PDF file that has images to guide you to installing the Stern Backlit ID Badge.

Tools needed

- Size T15 Torx screwdriver

- Drill

- 5/32” metal drill bit

- #2 Phillips screwdriver

- Flat tray to catch metal shavings from drilling.

Installation Instructions

Step 1 Remove the ID Panel

Using a size T15 Torx screwdriver, removed the two 6-32 x ⅜” stainless Steel Screws (Stern Part# 237-6307-06) and keep them handy to install the drill guide on the back of the speaker panel assembly.

Step 2 Install drill guide

Using the ⅜” Torx screws attach the drill guide to the back side of the speaker panel assembly

Step 3 Drill hole in Speaker Panel

It is best to support the opened speaker panel underneath for drilling as well as using a tray on the playfi eld glass to catch the metal shavings. Using a 5/32” drill bit, drill a hole through the speaker panel. Clean up all the metal shavings before the next step.

Step 4 Insert ID Badge

Insert the ID badge into the lightbox. This will be a tight fi t.

Step 5 Run wire through hole

After checking that there are no metal burrs leftover from the drilling step run the wire through the hole

Step 6 Connect Dimmer

Lift up the orange levers as shown in the picture and insert the black and red wires. Match the color to the same color on the other side of the lever nut.

Step 7 Install Lightbox

Using the provided ¾” machine screws install the lightbox and ID panel to the speaker panel.

Step 8 plug into power board Plug the 3pin Molex plug into the Power distribution board. IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not recommended to power this mod off with other mods using a "Spike 2 CN6 Mod Power Splitter". This is due to the 2A 12v output limit of the Stern Power Board and some mods drawing close to that creating a voltage drop. If a splitter is desired it is recommended to use an external power supply with the splitter which I also make.

Step 9 Adjust Dimming

You may adjust the dimming using the middle button to your liking.
